JULIANA VELEZ LOAIZA
Bogotá, Colombia, 1986.
MA in philosophy of art, aesthetics and culture, University Paris Ouest La Defense, Nanterre, Paris 10.
She has collaborated on productions and independent curatorial projects in the cities of Bogota, Cali, Paris and Boston, especially in the gallery Hallway gallery, where she also led a group discussion and study of contemporary art called "The zoo pot".
Always interested in writing and curating, Velez has participated in several art publications in independent art magazines such as Hyperallergic magazine and university press of two universities.
Former member of the editorial society Paroles des Mondes Anciens of Paris.
Currently she is conducting an investigation on Spatialism, Conceptual Art and Arte Povera, movements she consideres of important innovations and proposals still powerful and influential due to their open procedures and dialogues with real and present life. The curator main interest is the relationship between space and contemporary work, which reveals a new story, a story of the present. It is a reflection on the present as a founding force on experience, an unstoppable movement of actions, situations and behaviors molded into form.
